When designing the Wii console, Nintendo had many options to consider.Since this was to be the next revolution in video gaming, every consideration was made to ensure the Wii had its place in history.  Should the Wii console be a monstrous thing with shiny silver parts, lights blinking, and all kinds of knobs and buttons?  Should it be the biggest game system you ever saw or should it be something not so outstanding?The console had to be designed to fit the purpose of the Wii.To bring back the video game crowd that had become alienated was the purpose the Wii was created.  It was supposed to be something for everyone.In no way was it ment to be intimidating.An image that would be accepted by common people had to replace the image of the power user that had been previously used.The Wii console had to have a friendly, easy to use feel to ensure people would want to and be able to use it.It needed to have a powerful look, yet be unassuming at the same time.What they created is a blend of the needs of today with the look of tomorrow.

The sleek revolutionary design resembles an upright DVD player.  The continuing theme is white and all of the accessories being developed for the Wii console are being made in that white theme with sleek lines and an unassuming shape and look.  There is a consistency about the Wii console that allows anyone to feel like they can not only set it up and use it but potentially master it as well.The design itself gives off its own energy while encouraging people to add their own light to it.

Hands Off Handling

Your television remote and the wireless controllers are very similar in look and feel.The Wii console combines everything familiar to consoles as well as everything new and exciting.The design combines what Nintendo wants the public to see in the future, as well as, what the public already knows.  It took 4 years to create the Wii console look and the hard work shows.

The Wii console does not intimidate and it does not make you feel like you need to be a genius to use it.This new game console fits perfectly within a market that had been isolated for years.
